After the selection of two 9 player squads we are back to summer training in preparation for the start of the season in September.

Training is currently starting at the earlier time of 19:00 at Paulton Rovers Football Club.

Junior training will resume on 2nd September 2009 at 6.30pm at PAULTON ROVERS.

Paulton Rovers Netball Club has been established for almost 20 years and consists of both junior and senior sections.

The senior section currently play in the Somerset League where the A side are in the 1st division and the B side the 3rd division. The senior section also participate in Wessex Blades’ summer league, in Warminster, during July. Out of 10 teams we came in joint third with Beta Brads. “GO PAULTON!!”

Our aim is to encourage anyone interested in playing netball to contact Paulton Rovers Netball Club, to join the club and improve their standard of open play, key skills, understanding of tactics and general fitness.

We always welcome and encourage new members regardless of age or ability (minimum age is 9 years for juniors)

We have previously been very lucky enough to have ex-Somerset coach and qualified Level 2 Senior Coach Stuart Eglington as our coach. He brought his great enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge to all training sessions and matches, this enthusiasm is being carried on by all members of our club. Unfortunately Stuart will not be coaching us this season so we are on the hunt for a new coach to fill the big hole he has left. For our indoor training sessions we are lucky enough to have Jane Tompkinson running us through our paces. We have one Level 2 Junior Coach and 3 Level 1 Coaches, along with 2 Child Protection Officers.

Training takes place on a Wednesday evening at Paulton Rovers, 6.30pm-8pm for juniors and 8pm-9.30pm for seniors. The Senior squad also train indoors once a month at Norton Hill School.

As well as being a highly competitive club we also enjoy a fantastic social life and regularly go out together as friends, weekends away or just a drink and a gossip in the bar after training!
