In their first home match of the season, Paulton Arrows took to the court with positivity and a determination to build on their last game’s result. The team started well and fought to keep the score close with Gemma B and Lucie linking up well in the mid court at C and WA. The quarter ended 9-7 to Tor.
No changes were made to the line-up going into the second quarter and the defence kept the pressure on the Tor shooters with Melissa at GD making some vital interceptions and Gemma at WD supporting the conversions up to the attack. Ella, making her debut at senior netball, worked hard at GS in the circle to keep the score tight ending the quarter 22-17 to Tor.
A switch around at the defensive end brought fresh legs at GK from Rebecca (also making her senior netball debut) and Harriet out to GD. Making some fantastic interceptions and sticking tight to their players meant that they could feed and support the mid court to attack. However, the score did not reflect the efforts of the team as Tor stayed ahead for the third time, 31-23.
A final move around of the team meant that Gemma K moved to C and Melissa returned to court at WD. But despite the efforts of Ella and Pip in the attacking third and the teams determination, Tor pulled away to end the match 39-27. Arrows would like to thank the umpires and supporters for giving up their time. The oppositions Player was Pip and the Players’ Player was Harriet.
