Knights v Paulton A 04/02/12

Paulton knew they had a tough match ahead of them against strong opposition Knights. It proved to be another close match for Paulton, but they came out on top.

The team took to the first quarter with their familiar squad to find their feet on the indoors court. It was a strong start from both teams, with Charlotte and Victoria defending the circle hard. Centre court working well to push the ball down the court with great feeds from Deb and Hayley into the shooters to secure some vital goals. The first quarter ended Knights one goal ahead 8-7.

Second quarter Paulton had a squad rotation, seeing Jess at GK and moving Charlotte to WD. This seemed to unsettle Knights, however it was still goal for goal. The pace was fast but Paulton played their own game as important interceptions were made by Paultons defence. But Paulton were still falling short Knights in the lead 19-18.

However the third quarter saw Paulton come out fighting, after a good team talk they knew they wanted it more!  Another squad rotation included Ness replacing Hayley at WA and Laura going WD which seemed to throw the opposition as Paulton got stronger and stronger. Paulton took advantage of rebounds collected by defence and carried the ball over to the shooters Cheryl and Davina who secured some essential goals ending a good quarter ahead 27-28.

A final squad rotation saw Charlotte back at WD and Hayley at WA, a last push from Paultons centre court players with some brilliant play from Deb. A great team effort ensured the important goals were scored. Paulton showed that they wanted the win more then their opposition and therefore won 40-42.
