Paulton A v Norton Quinns 12/11/11

After a misty start the sun shone on the Paulton Rovers netball court as the match started as a goal for

goal, tight contest.  Both teams were working hard with lots of interceptions from Victoria and Charlotte giving their all in defence.  Paulton weren’t able to capture the loose balls to gain any advantage so the first quarter ended with an even 9 – 9.

After a strong quarter time squad talk, Paulton got themselves together and worked their passes well up the court to feed both Davina and Cheryl in the circle, both fighting  a tough Norton defence to sink their shots and edge a gap of 5 points to establish a score of 20 – 15 to Paulton after quarter two.

A switch around in quarter three saw Ness, Deb and Hayley work the centre court with vigour and determination.  Every player was working at 110% from end to end with Paulton’s fitness and desire to win, alongside their excellent movement, taking Norton by surprise and allowing them extend their lead to 9 goals, with an end of quarter score of 32 – 23.

With another Paulton switch around, Laura came on as WD and demonstrated the shared enthusiasm, dynamism and energy displayed by both teams throughout the match and, despite Norton’s hearty fight, Paulton were able to retain their 9 goal lead to finish the match at 39 – 30.

A great crowd pleasing win leaving the strong home crowd beaming with pride!
