After a harsh defeat on Thursday night Paulton took to the court a little nervy but still determined to regain their winning streak.
The cold seemed to take hold of the Paulton side and the first quarter was a slow one with a few little mistakes being made allowing Monmouth to take a small lead 5-8.
The second quarter saw Paulton battle for every ball forcing Monmouth experienced players to make mistakes which Shelley and Laura capitalised on pushing the ball up the Paulton shooters. The quarter ended a tense draw 16-16.
With a win in their sights Paulton kept battling and Katrina and Kim proved solid in defence stopping the Monmouth shooters from getting shooting opportunities. Jade worked hard covering all the court well and getting free from her player allowing sneaky passes up the court to an on fire Kelly who hit the target time and time again. Paulton were in the lead at the end of the quarter 28-23.
The final quarter started well with good passing throughout and some great defending but a fall from Jade shook the team a little. However with a quick change around they were soon back in their stride feeding the ball to Darby who along with her fellow shooter kept on scoring the much needed goals. Paulton finished 36-33.
Player of the match: Kelly (GS) Thanks to Ness for umpiring and all the supporters for once again braving the cold conditions to cheer us on!
