Paulton B v Newbarn 03/12/11

After watching the A Team play some fantastic netball Paulton’s younger side were determined not to let the side down and took to the court all guns blazing.

The team took no time at all to settle into their playing stride working the ball well in the centre court with some great passing by Sarah into the shooting circle. Jade linked well with both the defence and the attack to provide support at both ends. Newbarn’s shaky passing allowed Paulton to make many interceptions ending the quarter head 10-5.

Showing versatility the squad rotated with Kristie moving to GK using her height to great effect preventing the Newbarn GS from finding the net. However Newbarn weren’t going to go down without a fight and they tightened their passing up to prevent easy interceptions. Shelley still managed to get in the way of passes and the ball moved straight back to Helen and Darby in the shooting circle. Paulton were still marginally in the lead at half time 19-15.

Another rotation for Paulton worked well with Liz on at WD working well with Kim to get the ball back and down the court. Some great movement from Paulton’s attacking players meant for some great netball. Working the ball well around the attacking circle the B Team looked steady and in control of the game hardly giving Newbarn a chance to get into the game. The quarter ended 31-22.

Once again Paulton rotated showing great flexibility with Andrea back on at GK pushing her GS shoot hard and giving her little room to move for the ball. Some great passing, vibrant movement and good communication allowed Paulton to remain steadfast in the lead. They controlled the ball and were determined to give the club a clean sweep. The game ended with the B side once again victorious 43-33.

Thanks to all who cheered so loudly and to Cheryl for umpiring!
